Abstract:
We develop a quasi-birth-and-death model [1, 2, 3] for a hospital system that has a limited number of beds and a restricted capacity in the waiting area. We compute key performance measures of the system. Model parameters are obtained by fitting to data from a Tasmanian tertiary referral hospital.
